The Jungle is a novel written by Upton Sinclair, who was a popular American author and socialist. The main focus of this work is business corruption during the early 20th century. The Jungle depicts the harsh reality of poverty, the absence of social security, and the poor working conditions. The major problem outside of these issues is relentless hopelessness among the poor.
