Reverend Hugh Macmillan was a 19th century Scottish pastor who lived from 1833 to 1903. Aside from his pastoral vocation, Macmillan also seems to have had a deep love and knowledge of botany, geology, geography, and the spiritual nature of human beings. He has several published books, such as Bible Teachings in Nature, The Christmas Rose & Other Thoughts in Verse, The Olive Leaf, and The Sabbath of the Fields: Being a Sequel to Bible Teachings in Nature, all of which show the connection between the nature of earth and its people, and their shared creation by God. In addition, Reverend Macmillan also wrote 200 sermons which are now in the public domain.
