The Lewis' family imagination factory always has been amazingly productive. The memory of many stories told around the campfire frequents my day dreams. Often, before I write a story, those golden days and the memories are in the forefront of my creative impulses. The importance of such interludes as stories around the campfire to our children is becoming lost among the hustle and bustle of our daily twenty-first century lives. My paternal grandfather was a natural speed reader. His passion was western novels. Grandpa Lewis was born in 1896. His life and legacy was unique. Stories poured out of him like artesian water. Stories of his days in the military, life during the Great Depression, and best of all were his fishing stories. He only had a high school education, but his knowledge of history and the world around him was second to none. In this book, I hope to provide fuel to your imagination.
