Timelines of World History

This cross-cultural journey through the human story reveals the changing shape of the world from the beginning of recorded history up to the present day. A series of illustrated timelines, organized into eras or centuries, form the core of the book and create a picture of what was occurring simultaneously across all civilizations and cultures at any given time. Feature boxes and captions throughout focus on key figures, events and developments and a cross-reference navigation tool enables selected events and themes to be traced back and forth through history. Each timeline section opens with an introductory narrative which gives an overview of what was happening globally at that period in history.
