After staying with his grandmother Ingrid on the Orkney Islands, Finn is now sitting in the departure lounge of Kirkwall Airport, eager to head back to his mainland life of university and relationship problems. Then he meets Maddie - a sophisticated and beautiful woman ten years his senior. With their flight delayed by fog, they make each other's acquaintance at the bar. Once on the tiny plane, they end up sitting together at the back, flirting. But both of them have secrets to hide.
