Road Grace: Blessings for the Journey

The idea of 'road grace' was born when I encountered road rage in a driver whose face and gestures made me glad the windows were rolled up. In contrast, many other drivers accommodated cars entering the freeway or changing lanes. Their graciousness fostered a momentary community among us. I recognized these interactions as 'road grace'. Once I learned to look for it, I found it common on the highway and in other settings.Road Grace: Blessings for the Journey reminds us that each of us is a beloved child of God. The harried driver, the checkout clerk, the patients and the receptionist in the waiting room, the lawns, fields and roadside flowers; all of creation has value.We live in a distracting, rambunctious world. It is easy to losesight of God in the bustle of our days. Road Grace offers meditations sharing glimpses of God. God is always in the picture, but is sometimes difficult to locate.
