They contained the elements of three philosophical inquiries.First, a sketch of the progress and results of that sublime portion of philosophy which is generally called the philosophy of the universal history of the human race. Secondly, the outlines of such a philosophy applied to the principle of development in religion, and particularly in Christianity.
