Titus Goes to School (Titus the Sea Turtle)

Titus the Sea Turtle loves stories. He is thrilled to learn that storytelling and book reading is a big part of going to school. When he arrives on his first day of school, his teacher, Miss Martha, reads the class an exciting story. But when it’s time for recess Titus is disappointed that he and his friends must swim outside to play among the seaweed instead of hearing the end of the story. He must wait until tomorrow. But the next day Miss Martha is sick. A substitute teacher reads the class a different story. A very boring story. Then, Titus gets sick and must stay home forcing him to wait even longer. Will Miss Martha return to school and read the end of the story without him? Why is it so hard to wait? What lesson does Titus learn about being patient when he is disappointed, angry, or bored?Nine-year-old Sophia Ambrico is a budding author and illustrator.
