OK, Let's Go For It!: A Story of Dreams Shared, Dreams Lost, Dreams Renewed

At age 13 Glenn Walters met another boy who would become his lifelong friend.  The friend’s name was Ed White.  Ed was very much like Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer. He was very creative and persuasive in his promotion of one adventure after another.  Glenn was clearly Ed’s Huckleberry Finn — the sometimes gullible, but always supportive partner. Ed White would grow up to become a NASA astronaut — and the first American to ”Walk in Space.”  The two boys had lives very different from one and other, but they remained close friends and supported each other as their careers evolved.  This is their story of dreams shared, dreams lost, and dreams renewed as Glenn’s life took many new paths after Ed’s tragic death in the fire of Apollo One.
