Madmen and Fellow Travelers: A Collection of Short Stories

MADMEN AND FELLOW TRAVELERS is a bittersweet collection of stories. Many of the characters are right on the brink between alienation and man’s most basic need to connect. In Ozzie the Clown, Ozzie can only communicate comfortably wearing his clown costume and makeup. In The Daily Double, two men, who can only exchange perfunctory greetings face-to-face, develop a friendship by communicating through the thin walls of their adjacent apartments. In The Finishing Touch, a hitman bonds with his intended victim. While there is a hard edge to many of the stories, they still allow the reader to experience what the character is feeling or trying to feel. Many, but not all, of the stories are linked by a common character.
