The energy of big cities grates against Dak Newman's ultra-sensitive psychic abilities, creating panic that borders on insanity. But because of his status as a best-selling author who has been critical of excessive corporate influence in politics, his agent convinces him to leave the peaceful comfort of the Idaho wilderness to speak at a Washington D.C. conference on economic policy, and he once again must face his anxiety. At the conference, the daughter of the ex-CEO of Braxton Oil Company seeks him out. Her father, inspired by Dak's book, was about to go public with accusations against Braxton for their corporate misdeeds before he was brutally murdered. She plays on Dak's anti-corporate leanings to help her dig deeper into the company's dark past. Once again facing the debilitating urban energies, Dak is unaware that he has now become a target for those who do not want the truth exposed.
