Infidelity: Discovery to Recovery, First Aid Manual for the Betrayed

Approximately 70% of marriages and/or committed relationships experience infidelity. This self-help manual addresses partnership betrayal no matter the age, gender, or sexual orientation. Approaching "first things first," it validates the emotional pain, urges the securing of finances, and educates about health matters, particularly the need for evaluation and testing for sexually transmitted diseases (minimally addressed in competitive books). This manual empowers readers to accept the reality of their partner's indiscretion, and to confront the problem in an orderly manner from a position of strength. It guides readers from infidelity discovery through decision-making choices leading to resolution. A workbook chapter allows readers to sort through and record their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors which helps to clarify whether Professional Counseling or other interventions would be helpful. It provides crisis intervention telephone numbers and Internet addresses as well as other pertinent information throughout the text and Appendices. The Reality Checklist at the conclusion of each chapter allows readers to personally self-correct or further pursue key elements needing attention. The goal of the author, a Registered Nurse Psychiatric Clinical Specialist and Professional Marriage/relationship Counselor, is to assist betrayed partners to establish and/or preserve an intact self-identity and guide them in making informed life choices for the security of their future dreams and goals with or without their spouse or committed partner.
