Description:

Bridgie Says.... provides a poignant look at the life of Bridgett Senape Marsiat, a woman who lived and raised her family by the proverbs she wrote and kept in her diary. This memoir is packed with her proverbs AND the recipes that made several restaurants successful. The proverbs and the recipes are both spicy at times. From the chicken piccata served at her first restaurant in Hazleton,Pa., to the minestrone soup still served at Roma's Pizza in Ybor City, Tampa, these recipes can be found for the first time in this book. The family history includes the story of a hard working immigrant making a new life for his family in America. Bridgie's father Gerardo Senape, came to Ellis Island in 1907 and settled in Hazleton, Pa. He and his brother Saverio managed to work several jobs and save enough money to buy four lots in Hazleton where they raised their families and ran their business. Senapes Tavern is still on the corner of that property today.
