Peace Moves: An Exploration for Young People

Peace Moves is an engaging dialogue that takes place among international youth on the challenges of creating peace in families, communities, nations, and the world. The story begins when world leaders host an international youth forum on humanitys potential for establishing global peace. Young people from different cultural, religious, social, and economic backgrounds are brought together and presented with the mission to collectively devise and communicate a viable strategy for peace to the diverse segments of society. Challenged by one anothers worldviews and the prevailing world trends, they undertake a journey of personal and collective transformation as they work to arrive at a common solution to the challenges of creating a lasting peace. Peace Moves is currently studied in the classrooms of more than 120 schools, and more recently in some colleges and university departments. Appealing to a wide range of audiences, the story has proven itself an effective and thought-provoking resource for students, teachers, academics, and parents alike. The book has also been produced as an interactive, Flash-animated movie called Peace Moves-Journey to Unity. This companion resource assists students in upper primary and secondary schools to think critically and creatively about the all-important subject of peace.
