Defending Life 2019: America's Playbook for Life

Americans United for Life’s legal team is proud to announce the release of our 14th edition of Defending Life, our premier annual publication. Defending Life, which has been called “the pro-life playbook,” is an important tool that combines more than 50 pieces of our model legislation, expert analysis, and 50 state report cards into a single non-partisan guide to assist legislators across the nation in protecting human life from conception to natural death.“Defending Life equips state lawmakers and thought leaders with strategic model legislation, expert analysis, 50 state report cards, and critical tools to transform pro-life principles into law,” said Catherine Glenn Foster, President & CEO of Americans United for Life.In Defending Life, AUL’s expert legal team comprehensively addresses abortion, protection of the unborn (in contexts outside of abortion), bioethics, patient protection laws, and health care freedom of conscience; expertly tackles the legal and policy challenges for the pro-life movement; and reports on recent legislative and courtroom victories, continuing progress toward protecting life in each of the 50 states, and emerging issues and trends.
