Follow the author through a journey of events and experiences that have shaped a series of life's adventures going down various paths of discovery, reflection, and understanding. Having been raised in Santa Barbara, CA as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Brett's parents joined the church while he was a small child when they lived in the Los Angeles area. Reflecting back on a somewhat mischievous and stubborn childhood, Brett shares many entertaining and sometimes troubling events leading to an epiphany of spiritual awakening.

With a new found direction in life, Brett looks for paths that will help build on his new foundation of faith - leading to service as a missionary, starting and raising a family, and a career as a police officer. With an idealistic vision of what a police officer does in serving a community he discovers many disheartening realities about the dark side of life. While trying to make sense of seemingly senseless parts of living he has put into words experiences that may help others appreciate their existence in a more positive light.
