A CAMEL'S STORY: A Search for the Messiah

Life is a journey we/ve all been given the opportunity to travel. It is filled with adventure, problems, and questions. As we travel this road called life, the biggest question we will need to answer for ourselves us, "Who is Jesus Christ?" Is he truly the Messiah ( savior of all mankind) as the Bible claims He is? In, A Camel's Story, King Balthasar follows a star for thousands of miles using his most prizes racing camel, "Xavier", as a pack animal. He's searching for the promised Messiah and is determined to find him. Xavier certainly did not share his master's passion. He was very disturbed and angry about being used as "a common mule". Full of self pity he grumbles, whines, and complains during to entire journey. Camels, by nature, are much like us. They tend to be rather prideful, stubborn creatures and do not like to follow commands. They want to do what they want to do -- when they want to do it! As you read this story, see if you can relate to Xavier's doubts and frustrations during the search as well as the dilemma he faces at the journey's end.
