Description:

This book is about solutions. Solutions for Texans. Solutions that the entire world can follow and implement. The authors take a stark and frank look at the recent history of the Republic of Texas movement. Failure marks the movement's efforts and in an about face -- a 180 degree change in direction -- the solutions for Texas were discovered and were in front of the loyal Texian citizens all along. Solutions to free Texas from the downhill treadmill that it has been entrapped in for over 150 years were taken from world history and Texas own history -- successful freedom movements that point the way to independence. Most people say it can't be done. To Texans anything is attainable for Texans -- including independence. While researching the solutions, the authors discovered that there is a spiritual side to Texas that has been seldom, if ever, written about. They bring forth their findings and allow the reader to decide for themselves. Excerpts: This book is about Texas and Texans and is written for Texans that love being independent. The whole world has heard about the Republic of Texas; if not in the news of recent years then in tales, verses, and songs from Texas. Texans are supremely proud of their heritage, culture, and history. I must say as to what I have seen of Texas, it is the garden spot of the world, the best land and the best prospects for health I ever saw, and I do believe it is a fortune to any man to come here. - Alamo hero Davey Crockett Texas holds a mystique for any human that has ever been here or touched by its culture in one way or another. The mystique is so strong that few people ever leave without having an opinion about it. They either love it or hate it. Luckily for Texas most people love it and have fond memories of it. I done drew the line. Just like the Alamo. You're either on one side of the line or the other. I don't want to ever leave Texas again. - Former Houston Oilers coach Bum Phillips If I owned Texas and Hell, I would rent out Texas and live in Hell. - General Phil Sheridan Texas holds a unique geographical spot in the Americas. It is called the 'West.' It is called the 'South." It is called the 'Mid-West.' It is called the 'Plains.' Texas is all of these and it is none of these. Texas is neither southern nor western . Texas is Texas . Senator William Blakley Texas is uniquely Texas. Its culture, even though it is probably the best results of the melting pot experience, remains totally unique to Texas. It would not be unusual to see an immigrant from Vietnam that has chosen Texas as his home, wearing cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. The Texas style culture is a matchless blend of Mexican style with Western style and while it is a blend of both it remains neither of either one. It is simply Texan. It is not strange nor considered odd to see Mexican culture, German culture, Jewish culture, and many others at any time being proudly displayed and celebrated in Texas. Even though we maintain our Texas style, we enjoy celebrating the cultures that created our unique merger of all cultures that have blessed Texas with their cultural gifts. Texans are masters at slaughtering the English language. If'n a word don't exist that we need we simply create one on the fly. If a word don't fully fit the message we want to convey we can twist and contort the word so that only Texans know what we are talking about. Our language is filled with slang, vulgarities, colloquialisms, foreign slang and vulgarities, and other words that we can't even remember where they came from. What may seem like a vulgarity to the rest of the world may be normal and accepted in Texas. I dearly love Texas , but I consider that a harmless perversion on my part, and discuss it only with consenting adults . Molly Ivins
