The images and text are waterfast and can be used in a laboratory setting. The book is 162 pages, plastic spiral-bound, printed on 24-lb paper, and is covered with a sheet of clear 10-ml plastic on the front and 23-guage plastic on the back. A total of 1,373 parasite images are included on 135 plates. A brief explanation of each plate is on the facing page, emphasizing major characteristics of the parasite's structure, life cycle, and medical significance. Compared to previous editions, the 7th edition includes additional parasite species, chapter introductions, and an appendix on microscopy. A copy of the CD, "Electronic Atlas of Parasitology" is included with the printed atlas. All orders are shipped by USPS Priority Mail.
