The Woodstock Railroad
Description:
The Woodstock Railroad was a very short railroad from White River Junction to Woodstock, Vt. Although only 14 miles long, it worked for 58 years transporting passengers, freight, mail and more over Shallies Hill to Quechee, Taftsville, and to Woodstock. Like many small steam operations, it fell victim to the automobile, and made it's last run in 1933. Originally published as "Over the Hills to Woodstock" by Edgar T. Mead in 1967, this new edition contains new photos and maps.
