Many Faces of Mexico

Many Faces of Mexico is a resource book for learning and teaching about Mexico. Designed for middle- and high-school students, and adult learners, this popular curriculum incorporates extensive background readings, up-to-date statistics, 250-pages of reproducible handouts, maps and dozens of innovative activities, designed for middle and high school, university and adults, Original stories help students identify and interpret multiple perspectives. Through its unique pedagogy, the curriculum develops students' capacity to think about complex issues, make decisions and take action.

Twenty four lessons focus on four themes:

* Where is Mexico? locates Mexico in time and space, and considers questions about perspective, definitions and terminology.

* What is Mexico? presents political, historical, economic and cultural information.

* Who are the Mexican people? explores the cultural and ethnic diversity of the Mexican people, including those who live in the United States, using stories, simulations and images.

* How are people connected? examines the relationship between the people of Mexico, the United States and Canada.

More than 900 copies of the first edition, published in 1996, have been sold and used extensively in schools and universities throughout the United States and Canada. Up-dated statistics and two new lessons have been added to this second edition.
