Treelines: A Collection Of Poems

An anthology of poetry about woods, trees and orchards, illustrated with wood engravings. Trees are all around us, taken for granted, marking the seasons, and forming the backdrop to our daily lives. Who hasn't got a favourite tree? Who hasn't planted a tree? Climbed a tree? Sat in the shade of a tree? Picked up a conker? Who hasn't walked happily through a wood? As Ralph Waldo Emerson says 'The wonder is that we can see these trees and not wonder more' Here are poems that reflect that wonder. A wonder that we feel and want to share. This is the fourth anthology published by Lautus Press, and is similar in style and feel. The other titles are Washing Lines (about washing and laundry), Strings of Pearls (about jewels and jewellery and the stories they tell) and Shorelines (about beaches and beachcombing, collecting shells and pebbles). It is a collection of over 60 poems by poets as wide ranging as Philip Larkin, John Clare, Gillian Clarke, Alice Oswald, Seamus Heaney, Carol Ann Duffy and Helen Dunmore. And there are about twenty-five beautiful wood engravings by artists including Howard Phipps, Anne Hayward, Anita Klein, Sue Scullard and Miriam Macgregor.
