About the Author
Timothy Szczykutowicz, Ph.D., DABR, received his B.S. in physics from the SUNY University at Buffalo in 2008. He went on to complete his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin working with Chuck Mistretta, widely known as the inventor of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and Guang-Hong Chen, a pioneer in CT image reconstruction. He is currently an associate professor in the department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin Madison with affiliate appointments in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics. The clinical and research activities of Dr. Szczykutowicz include optimizing CT protocols, monitoring patient dose, developing new metrics to define image quality in the clinical setting, developing protocol management methodologies, fluence field modulated CT, dual-energy CT, and assisting in various projects related to cone-beam CT.
