Like another product of that era of early moviedom and TV, Jimmy Stewart, Art's appeal shoots upward and never looks back. It will simply amaze you to discover his early years drifting as a hobo, then exploring and practically inventing his future once he realized what he could do with a microphone. Here, he was more than a product of circumstance, opportunity and talent. In between the lines, a driving optimism (or fate)allows him to capitalize on those chance encounters continuously in his development toward stardom. The key word is self-development and confidence in oneself. All in all, Art Linkletter embodies the wisest of advice in career development which is: The job is You; make the best you every day. Like Churchill, who believed in an invisible helper, after reading this mostly-dictated biography you will feel the loss of this larger-than-TV talent who built himself upon rock-solid integrity, tremendous self-awareness and understated mental aptitude(child-like curiosity), masked by a public modesty. He was certainly the Right Man with the Right Stuff at the right time for television. Beyond compare.
