Minicomputers Hardware Software and Selection

Numerous books have been published on various aspects of minicomputer technology. However, the treatment of the overall functional operation of a minicomputer has been largely confined to studies of specific minicomputers, or groups of minicomputers, available on the current market. Such presentations, while valuable, are often confusing to the reader or, alternately, invoke a negative interest. When a wide range of minicomputers is presented, none can be treated in detail so the material often appears to be a long list of briefly presented topics. The reader may react negatively to a specific brand of minicomputer, and, on that basis, reject the material presented. In contrast to the above approaches to minicomputer technology, this book offers a much more thorough analysis of the functional operation of a minicomputer than heretofore presented.
