Originally conceived by the publisher as a "simple goblin calendar with which to shamelessly exploit another masterpiece of popular culture by Froud and Berk," (and without including any of the "usual problems" that often attend their continuing researches into the goblin world), the plan has gone horribly awry. Nearly completed, the proofs of the calendar - needing only Mr. Froud's final approval but left untouched in his studio while he enjoyed a brief but necessary mental health sabbatical in the locked attic of a local Dartmouth fish restaurant - were grabbed by the goblins. Taking it upon themselves to make "improvements," the little blighters transformed what would certainly have been an inoffensive and tasteful wall calendar into an absurd and grotesque "Almanac of Goblin Delights." Swiping Froud's FedEx number, the goblins shipped the proofs back to the publisher marked Ready To Print!"
