Means to an End

A year after assuming the duties of 'interim Police Chief' for Higgins Point, semi-professional and fully resourceful lawman Dexter Loomis veers into another murder case when he determines that the car crash that took the life of an investigative reporter was no accident. Dexter swallows his manful pride and uses the case as an excuse to recruit the help of his old flame, DCI homicide investigator Ann Summer. Together they tiptoe around a federal investigation into local Indian gaming while sorting through leads pointing to a New Jersey crime figure, a world famous artist, and a twenty-year-old unsolved homicide. After several victims drop dead, all by similar means, Dexter begins to question the integrity of the local cuisine and realizes that sometimes poison can be food for thought.
