At last! Here is the long-awaited second volume of David Grisman's lyrical mandolin/guitar conversations. This time, versatile jazz guitarist Martin Taylor collaborates with Grisman, taking frequent solo flights on classic standards. Martin is one of the finest jazz and fingerstyle guitarists in the world, and these two artists have an uncanny ability to play off of each other's talents. Martin's guitar is there to provide ever interesting support behind mandolin melody, or to burst forth in a chorus. Martin is equally at home with a hot jazz improv or with a fingerstyle jazz arrangement. The tunes are listed in order of difficulty, whether they are flatpick or fingerstyle. Many of these transcriptions provide the guitarist with at least one way to play an improvised section, which the player is free to alter. All of the selections are in notation and tablature. Two tunes from the CD are not in either companion book: Unforgettable and Here's That Rainy Day.
