This edition, a reprint of the third edition of 1989 (previously reprinted in 1991) describes in detail the new, noninvasive techniques of Doppler echocardiography and Doppler color flow imaging, as well as the established interventional techniques of balloon valvuloplasty and angioplasty. More emphasis is placed on the genetic implications of congenital heart disease, with current information on risks, prevention, and recurrence.
