The Second Wife

The marriage of Richard and Ellie should be happy, for they are very much in love, but two things stand between Ellie and that happiness. She is obsessed with thoughts of Julia, Richard's beautiful first wife who died young, and another spectre - this time from her own past. Ellie's sense of usurping a role not rightfully hers becomes more than she can bear, and she slips away to her native north-east, hoping to uncover the truth about her childhood. Richard, frantic to find Ellie and bring her home, enlists the help of her friend Terri, a spirited journalist and herself a second wife...
