Each book in this series aims to capture the young reader's interest and imagination by dealing with especially unusual creatures, chosen for their extraordinary appearance or behaviour, from a specific group of animals. This volume focuses on frogs and toads, not all of which are like the familiar ones seen at the bottom of the garden or near local ponds. It looks at such varied and spectacular creatures as gliding tree frog, the Surinam toad, the spatulate-nosed tree frog and the marsupial frog, all of which have adapted their bodies for particular purposes.
