Guy Hocquenghem: Theorising the Gay Nation

Guy Hocquenghem is a key figure in the history of gay theory and activism in France. This book puts his theoretical writings in the context of the aftermath of May 1968 in France, and in the intellectual traditions to which he is close. His writings propose ways of moving beyond the impasses of modernity and identity, and his fictional work is central to this theme. The book looks at how contemporary debates on queer theory, gay pride, outing and consumerism might be informed by Hocquenghem's work.
