In this magnificently illustrated book, the words of Australia's greatest writer, Henry Lawson, are immortalised in more than a hundred photographs gathered over a lifetime and carefully selected by Douglass Baglin. Henry Lawson's life is seen in every word he wrote. He was born in the Bush and understood its lonely beauty and his favourite characters were the bush men and women he described in verse and short story. The sense of mateship, the humour and simplicity of bush life have provided the bedrock of the Australian character, here commemorated in the blend of verse, prose and photographs.
