The Clinical Handling of Dental Materials

The rapid development of new dental materials and their use in different applications, together with the expansion of postgraduate education has led the second edition of 'The Clinical Handling of Dental Materials' to concentrate mainly on the needs of the postgraduate student. New sections have been added to all chapters, and well-known experts have contributed chapters on Orthodontics, Endodontics and Periodontology and Oral Surgery.Approaching the science of dental materials from the clinician's point of view, materials are discussed in relation to clinical procedures, concentrating on properties which affect both their handling at the chairside and their subsequent behaviour in service. Part One covers the general properties of dental materials and Part Two follows a sequence of clinical procedures, starting with the examination of the patient. Parts Three and Four are sources of proprietary materials. A most useful Appendix provides a list of major suppliers of dental materials in the United Kingdom.
