Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology presents basic anatomy and physiology in a consistent, readable format appropriate for LPN/LVN and Health Professions students. The book focuses on the human body as a living, functioning organism, and uses examples that are easily recognized. For example, suntan and sunburn help explain melanin and pigment cells, and normal body functioning is made clearer by showing what happens when its balance is upset by a condition such as diabetes mellitus.

The text consists of 17 chapters that each focus on a particular aspect of body function. Each chapter is self-contained, allowing instructors the flexibility to vary the sequence of topics covered.
