Behind the Pages is designed to give your group a unique opportunity to meet authors, learn what has inspired them, and hear them answer questions about their books that you might ask if you were visiting with them in person.

J. Ellsworth Kalas brings to your group his years of experience as a preacher, educator, public speaker, and author. Parables from the Back Side is one of his most popular books, and it is the first in which he adopted the approach of taking familiar Bible stories or Scripture passages and looking at them in new and unexpected ways.

J. Ellsworth Kalas has been part of the faculty at Asbury Theological Seminary since 1993, after thirty-eight years as a United Methodist pastor and five years in evangelism with the World Methodist Council. He has been a presenter on Disciple videos and is the author of over thirty books, including the popular “Back Side” series, as well as the Christian Believer study. He lives in Lexington, Kentucky.
