What is now comprised in the first volume, was compiled by the Rev. Dr. Gibbons, and appeared in 1777, in two volumes 8vo. It was repub lished in 1804 with an additional volume, compiled by the Rev. Dr. Jerment. To these a third volume was added, in the year 1815, on the publication of a new and corrected edition. The Editor, in the preface to that edition, stated, however, that while he considered the Memoirs as exhibiting an interesting picture of genuine Christianity, he did not hold himself responsible for all the sentiments and Opinions thus recorded; especially in the former two volumes, which were given without any mate rial alteration.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
