Ferryman

A Post-Apocalyptic Novel A young adventurer descends to the depths of a newly opened cave following a devastating earthquake in Mexico. While he gives into a strange compulsion to take off his oxygen mask and hold it to the microbial slime on the floor, he has but one thought in mind. He hopes to be forgiven. The days of humanity are numbered when the plague takes its first victim a month later. The few who survive bear witness to the downfall of civilization. Humanity, once masters of their environment, are now slaves to nature. Not that this torment will be long lived, since no pregnancy has been carried to full term. In this world of lost hope, one man rises to fulfill his destiny and lead the people back. This is the story of the Ferryman. About the author Born in Kansas City, Jonathon spent his life there until venturing off to grad school in Indiana. That's where he met his wife. Together, along with some rather scrappy four-legged friends, they've called towns like Madison, Franklin and Crawfordsville home over the years. His goals in life were to: live in an old house and fix it up, write a novel, hit a pitch over the fence, and dunk a basketball. All have been met with the exception of the last. But hey, he's a 5'11" white guy. Truth be told...he may have been aiming a little high. When it comes to writing, Jonathon believes the ending of every story should be rewarding, but that doesn’t mean that it has to be happy...life doesn't always lead down that path. Sometimes life is painful and stretches you emotionally. He thinks that as authors, we show our love of writing in the passion we put forth in bringing our characters and plots to life. If we do it right, then our readers should be stretched emotionally as well. That’s Jonathon's goal.
