In the fall of 2006, tragedy struck Ruth's family when her beautiful, precious granddaughter, Samantha Rose Baer, passed away very suddenly from an unexplained virus at the young age of sixteen months. Ruth became inspired by her three year old grandson, Jacob, Samantha's brother, to record his thoughts, comments, questions, and memories of his sister.
