Not With Our Blood

Fifteen-year-old Patrick and his family, Irish immigrants, migrate north to the mill town of Leland after the death of his father at the Battle of Gettysburg. Work is hard to find and the conditions at the mill are miserable -- especially for immigrants who have little choice and no money. All that sustains Patrick is his dream of becoming a writer. But that dream is put in jeopardy when he falls into a rough crowd of Irish bullyboys bent on stealing their way to prosperity. Patrick must make a choice.
