Many authors have seen the Great War through the eyes of their own country. 'The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse' is a great novel, one of the three of four outstanding novels of the war. It is rich and varied in scene, human in its characterizations, interesting throughout, and, above all, refreshingly straightforward and conclusive on the subject of the Germans and their methods of warfare.
