Nursing Calculations

The ability to calculate and check drug doses quickly and accurately is a skill every nurse must acquire. This book is designed to help the student nurse acquire this skill and to refresh and update the skills of nurses returning to the profession. The book reviews the arithmetic fundamental to drug calculations. Using examples, explanations and practice questions (with answers) it covers the calculations required to administer injections, tablets and mixtures; to dilute solutions; to arrive at drip rates; and to administer paediatric doses safely. It puts calculations in the context of "on the ward" drug-dispensing situations.
