A New world order: Grassroots movements for global change

Paul Ekins examines the following global problems: war, insecurity and militarization; the persistence of poverty; the denial of human rights; environmental destruction. He analyzes the conventional policy approaches to these problems through a rigorous critique of the three United Nations reports of the 1980s, the Brandt, Palme and Bruntland Commissions. He also records and celebrates the achievements of the many individuals and organizations involved in policy and action at the grassroots level.
