Spunky schoolteacher Meg Halloran came to tiny, picturesque Port Silva to begin a new life. The dead body of one of her students - a member of the town's most prominent family - is found and suspicious fingers point to Meg. The strange, religion-obsessed boy had threatened both Meg and her young daughter when she had refused to raise his failing grade. Meg's only ally is the investigating officer, but that doesn't stop the obscene phone calls. Then a second body is found.
