About the Author \nAnissa Taun Rogers, PhD, LCSW, MA, is Associate Dean of California State University, San Bernardino Pam Desert Campus. She was previously the Director of the Social Work Program at the University of Portland, where she also taught courses across the social work curriculum, as well as courses on the body, gender, and human sexuality. She is registered, with her dog, Sookie, as a pet therapy team, working primarily with older adults and hospice patients.
Before finding her way to social work, Dr. Rogers studied psychology, in which she earned undergraduate and graduate degrees. After receiving her MSW and PhD in social work, Dr. Rogers began her career in undergraduate social work education and clinical practice. In addition to teaching, her main clinical and research interests are gender, sexuality, gerontology, mental health, and end-of-life care.
