A Volunteer's Adventures a Union Captain's Record of the Civil War

Here is the 237 pg stated unaltered/unabridged Reprint of the privately owned hardcover by John William De Forest as edited by James Croushore with intro by Stanley Williams from Archon Books and copyrighted 1970. This book represents a Union Army Captains letters to his wife during his Civil War service between 1861-1864. The book retains the unclipped illustrated dust cover which has some corner/edge wear/tear/chip, fade and handling wear/spotty stain, yet it remains overall intact and presentable. The red boards have some minor wear to the exposed edges/corners, yet otherwise they are straight and beautiful. Inside, there is a former owners book plate to the front end paper who just happens to be a De Forest also. There is also a name and date written to the title page and the fanned page ends have some spotty stain, yet otherwise the pages are clean, tear free and the binding is sound.
