The Newwave Agent Handbook

You are using the NewWave desktop manager to improve your productivity with Microsoft Windows. Now this book will help you harness the power of NewWave.
Central to NewWave is the concept of the Agent, which lets you automate and customize your computing activities. After reading this book you will be able to link together data in many of your other applications software programs written for Windows. For instance, you will be able to drag data from your spreadsheet into a text file in your word processor; every time you update data in your spreadsheet, the data in the document will be automatically updated. In addition to automating tasks, you will learn how to customize other applications software programs for your own needs. You will also learn how to use the object-oriented interface that is key to NewWave.
The twenty-eight chapters of this book are organized into five sections, broken down for the new and advanced user. If you are just beginning to use NewWave, the first four chapters offer a primer on how to use NewWave and Agents, explaining the benefits these tools can offer you. More experienced users can start with the second section on Task Fundamentals, which details all of the tools and utilities that are available to you for automating your work. The third section offers many exciting tips and examples to help you organize and schedule tasks. In the fourth section you will learn how to edit Task objects, and how to use the Agent Programming Language. The final section offers a complete programming language reference manual.
In order to make full use of NewWave version 4.0, as well as this book, the authors recommend that you have a 286/386/486 IBM compatible PC with a minimum of 2 megabytes of extended memory, a 40 megabyte hard disk, and Microsoft Windows version 3.0 or higher.
