European Human Rights Law: Text and Materials

European Human Rights Law, published in 1990, was the first attempt at introducing American law students to the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights, a court that has been remarkably successful in developing and applying a law of human rights that is, in many ways, parallel to the constitutional protections established in the United States. Since the publication of this first edition, the ECHR has cited nearly as many cases in the past five years as from its founding in the 1950s.
