After obtaining a degree in zoology, he spent 14 years in the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Management as a game ranger and then as an ecologist. He later became curator of mammals at the National Museum of Natural History. The winner of two Agfa photographic awards, Richard's work has been published in magazines, calendars, travel brochures and books. His documentary, 'Honey Badger: Raising Hell', has been distributed internationally by National Geographic.
