About the Author About the Canadian AuthorsAugustin M. Vukov has been teaching at the University of Toronto for several decades. For much of that time, he was the course coordinator for The Practice of Statistics―a large multi-section course designed to introduce the basic concepts and practice of Statistical Science to students from a great variety of (mostly non-mathematical) disciplines. Having taught so many students their required Stats course, he was not surprised to hear his new family doctor, his new ophthalmologist and a prospective new dentist say “Your name looks familiar. Ah yes, I used to sit in your Statistics lecture!”. A big fan of MinitabTM software for use in introductory Statistics courses, he has also authored several Minitab manuals. Augustine C.M. Wong is a professor of Statistics at York University. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto in 1990 and taught at the University of Waterloo and University of Alberta before coming to York in 1993. His research interests include asymptotic inference, computational methods in statistics, and likelihood-based methods. He is an author or co-author of over 80 research articles and 2 book chapters. At York, he teaches various statistics courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
